During today’s speech at the Glenn Beck, Fox promoted Restoring Honor to white people rally in Washington DC today, Glenn Beck was prepared for the worst by wearing a bullet proof vest.
With the underlying and vile words of hate that Beck spreads on his Radio and TV shows, it is not surprising that he would be afraid for his own life, after all, most of his listeners have become fearful or violent. We have seen several violent attacks and deaths attributed to Beck and or Fox news over the last two years, but Fox and Republican politicians just call those, “isolated incidents“. So maybe he was correct in playing it safe.

Glenn Beck and his traveling All-Stars put on their show today at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. And under the open sky Big Top was an estimated crowd of 200,000 people. As far as the eye could see it was a crowd that included every spectrum of the color white.
Guest speakers included actor Jon Voight, Michele Bachmann (R-MN), and Sarah “Wink Wink” Palin.
Beck gave a stirring speech at the end which was reminiscent of his Fox TV show. In fact if you were to watch any of his shows, then you would have a good idea of what his speech sounded like.

Barnicle asked if Sharron Angle is a “mental patient”. He goes on to say that she would be “embarrassing for Nevada”.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle have agreed on a date for their debate.
Justin Barasky, the Rapid Response Director at Friends for Harry Reid, announced on his Twitter page that the two sides have come to an agreement on a date for the debate which will be held Thursday October 14th.
Reid spokesman Jon Summers said, "Senator Reid is very much looking forward to this debate, as he has been for the last month”.
A spokesman for the Angle campaign said they look forward to the debate.

A new CNN Poll released today shows that 69 percent of Americans want to let the Bush/Republican tax cuts for the rich expire.
A major campaign issue for Republicans as we head into this Novembers election are the Bush/Republican Tax cuts that are set to expire this coming January.
Republicans argue that while the current economy is still in a recovery mode after the economic policies put in place by them, congress needs to extend the tax cuts that were in acted in 2001 and 2003, not let them expire.
They argue that the tax cuts for the rich, if extended, will help to create jobs, but data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) proves them wrong.
The nonpartisan website PolitiFact did some fact checking after they heard Sen. Sherrod Brown talking about the number of jobs created by Bush vs. Clinton while appearing on MSNBC last month.

On March 20, 2003 Operation Iraqi Freedom began with our invasion of Iraq, last night after 7 years and 6 months the combat phase has come to an end.
The last full combat brigade left Iraq and traveled into Kuwait, leaving behind 50,000 US troops for training of Iraqi forces and for support.
The cost of the Iraqi war was expense in both lives and money, at the moment nearly $1 trillion has been spent and more than 4400 US soldiers lost their lives in Iraq, along with more than 35,000 wounded. The cost of medical care for our wounded soldiers is estimated to be at a minimum another $2 trillion over their lifetimes.
The new military phase has been named Operation New Dawn.
Under the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) signed by former President Bush and the Iraqi Government in December 2008, all US combats troop had to be out of Iraq by the end of this month. All troops must be out of Iraq by December 31, 2011.
The Iraqi government can request that troops stay longer, if Iraq does make such a request, it would be up to President Obama to decide if we stay longer.
All Americans can be proud of our troops and the sacrifices they and their families have made over the last 7 ½ years.
As for the politicians that sent them there, that is another story.

Politico’s Ben Smith is reporting that News Corp which owns Fox News, the Wall Street Journal and hundreds of other media outlets and publications, “gave $1 million dollars to Haley Barbour's Republican Governors Association, according to their most recent filings.”
But that doesn’t sound fair, corporations buying politicians, well, thanks to the Supreme Court ruling earlier this year, Corporations are now considered “People”.
In the case Citizens United v Federal Election Commission the right wing activist judges placed on the Supreme Court by former President Bush, voted 5-4 in the case and said federal restrictions on corporate spending in elections constituted a violation of free speech. Critics called it wrong to equate corporate "speech" with individual speech and said the ruling would allow special-interest money to flood election campaigns.

Senator Reid releases statement on controversial Mosque in New York
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) office released a statement on the proposed Mosque in New York a few minutes ago, says he believes in the 1st Amendment, but thinks Mosque should be built elsewhere.
Senator Reid’s statement:
"The First Amendment protects freedom of religion," spokesman Jim Manley said in a statement. "Sen. Reid respects that but thinks that the mosque should be built some place else. If the Republicans are being sincere, they would help us pass this long overdue bill to help the first responders whose health and livelihoods have been devastated because of their bravery on 911, rather than continuing to block this much-needed legislation."

Earlier today Sharron Angle (R-NV) who had previously said that God had told to her run for the US Senate (video below), jumped into the uproar over the proposed Mosque in New York that is to be built two blocks from ground zero, which to many is considered Holy Ground.
Sharron Angle said that the President again ignores “the wishes of the American people”.
What the President did was ignore the mob rule mentality that she and her extremist Christian xenophobes are all riled about and he used the Constitution of the United States as his moral backing.
And Sharron Angle said of Reid: “As the Majority Leader, Harry Reid is usually President Obama's mouthpiece in the U.S. Senate, and yet he remains silent on this issue. She’s upset because Reid has yet to make any comments about the Mosque, so she’s making up the comments herself.

Last Friday before heading off on a mini vacation in the Florida panhandle, the President decided to weigh in on the proposed Mosque in New York, near ground Zero.
At the annual dinner in the State Dinning Room where guests gathered to celebrate the Islamic Holy month of Ramadan, President Obama made a short speech weighing in on the controversy about the proposed Mosque.
"As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country,"

Today marks the 75th anniversary for Social Security which was signed into Law by President Roosevelt in 1935.
Two Nevada Republicans running for office have openly come out against Social Security and say they will end it if elected.
Joe Heck (R-NV) who is running for Congress in Nevada’s 3rd congressional District (CD3) had previously accept a $5000.00 campaign donation form the House Conservative Fund for signing a Pledge to End Social Security.
Sharron Angle (R-NV) who is running for the US Senate has said that she will end both Social Security and Medicare. (see video)

Brian Sandoval the republican candidate for Governor of Nevada says that he will now cancel one of four planned debates with democratic candidate Rory Reid after the two candidates met at the Nevada Subcontractors Association meeting this past Wednesday at the Eastside Cannery.
Both were scheduled to give separate speeches to the association but Rory Reid goaded Sandoval onto the stage for an impromptu debate.
While at the podium Reid said to Sandoval, “I was wondering if maybe you’d want to have a dress rehearsal?”

TPM just posted part of a transcript of Sharron Angle on the Lou Dobbs radio show a few minutes ago where she said that she “believes” that she is leading Senator Harry Reid in the polls.
As TPM points out in the story, the last poll to show Angle leading was more that a month ago and all polls since have show Senator Reid in the lead.

Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons has decided that he will accept federal dollars for Nevada’s education system which is ranked near the bottom in the nation.
Gibbons at first was undecided on whether he should accept the $83 million for education, he previously said, "We have to study the requirements for taking that money," "The requirements by the federal government oftentimes put us in a more difficult position."
Gibbons went on to say “It is continued arrogance of the bureaucrats in the Reid/Obama administration to believe that all 50 states have identical education needs.” Which is true because most every other State does a better job with their education systems

Yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) was speaking to a group of Hispanic activists and was asked about immigration reform, and his answer has the right wing opinion channel Fox, and their echo chambers on the internet buzzing with feigned outrage.
What Senator Reid said in response to a question about immigration reform was “I don’t understand how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican, OK.” then added “Do I need to say more?”

This past Sunday Sharron Angle told Fox News that she wants the Media to be her “friend” during an interview with Fox reporter Carl Cameron. She told Cameron that “we needed to have the press be our friend.”.
She went on to tell Cameron that “we wanted them to ask the questions we want to answer so that they report the news the way we want it to be reported.”
Investigative reporter Joe Strupp of Media Matters for America decided to see if Nevada media outlets wanted to be her friend, and allow her to screen question so that they “ask the questions we want to answer”.
Turns out that no media outlets in Nevada were willing to allow Angle to come on their shows under the conditions that Angle demands which included asking for money. But one, KLAS-TV was willing to allow her to “beg” for money, if she would allow them to do an interview without pre-screened questions.

With each passing day Sharron Angle continues to show why she is not qualified to be a United States Senator.
In the past we have seen Sharron Angle literally run away from the press, in fact, she once ran from a woman reporter that was noticeably pregnant. (videos below)

Secretary of State candidate Rob Lauer (R-NV) this past June was accused of assault and battery on Jennifer Von Tobel at Stoney’s Rockin’ Country bar on the Las Vegas strip and Von Tobel filed charges with the Police. Lauer denied the allegations at the time and he too filed his own counter suit.
The Las Vegas Sun reported on Friday that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department have now reviewed the security videos which back up Von Tobel’s account of the assault and a criminal complaint has been filed against republican candidate Rob Lauer for misdemeanor battery.

This month America celebrates the 75th anniversary for Social Security which was signed into law on August 14, 1935 by President Roosevelt, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had this to say about republicans wanting to end social security.
“Just five years ago, President Bush and his Republican allies pushed a risky plan to privatize and cut Social Security,” she said. “If they had succeeded, seniors would have lost trillions more in the financial crisis. At the time, Democrats and the American people said ‘no.’ And no one lost a penny in Social Security, even as America’s households lost more than $17 trillion in wealth.”
