The only sane GOP candidate for president drops out of race

Former Governor Jon Huntsman will announce tomorrow that he will be dropping out of the race to be the Republican Party presidential nominee. The aide to former Governor Huntsman said that he endorse “Mitt Romney”.

"Governor Huntsman did not want to stand in the way of the candidate best prepared to beat Barack Obama and turn our economy around. That's Mitt Romney," the official said.

Huntsman the only qualified candidate among the remaining group of elephants was never able to get his campaign out of second gear, even as conservative republicans changed support of their candidate of choice week after week in search of an alternative to Willard “Mitt” Romney. But the conservative wing is just as unfriendly to Huntsman as it is to Romney, maybe even more so.

Huntsman refused to lower his standards in order to appear as someone he’s not as all the other candidates have done. Huntsman refused to kowtow to the extremist elements of the Tea Party that seem to control a rudderless republican party.

Jon Huntsman made his last stand in New Hampshire and his best was only good enough for third place.

Right wing extremism has pushed the candidates to either truckle to the elements in the Republican Party that are not truly representative of America, or to stand their ground on issues with self-respect and the character that one would expect from a presidential candidate.

Mr. Huntsman throughout this process of picking a nominee for the Republican Party has always chosen the road less traveled by his fellow republicans, the high road, and in today’s Republican Party taking the high road is only good enough for third place In New Hampshire.
