Mitt Romney: The ‘Everyday Joe’
Mitt Romney just doesn’t get it; he just doesn’t understand the trials and tribulations that American families go through every day. No matter how hard he tries to present himself as an Everyday Joe, he manages to do just the opposite, and ends up highlighting his elitism.
Then when Romney hears criticism about being distant, aloof, rich and elite, he says, “If people think that there is something wrong with being successful in America, then they better vote for the other guy”.
But that is not the problem, the Everyday Joe doesn’t care that he’s rich and successful, what voters are looking for is someone who is able to connect with them, even when they are not rich and successful.
Every American Joe would like to be rich and successful, like Romney, but until that day comes, if it does come, Americans want a President that understands everyday “kitchen table” discussions. Not someone who’s never faced any of the problems Americans face on a daily basis, and certainly not someone who has shown that he cannot relate.
Speaking of tables, on the campaign trail in Rochester, New Hampshire, while seated with a group of possible supporters and trying to fit in as an Everyday Joe, Romney stunned them when he said, “I know what it’s like to worry whether you’re going to get fired. There were a couple of times I wondered whether I was going to get a pink slip.”
In November 2008, Mitt Romney wrote an Op-Ed for the NY Times, that liberal newspaper that Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh are always damning as they quote the paper. In the Op-Ed Romney writes about the proposed bailouts for the US Auto Industry, first by former President George W. Bush, and then President Obama after he took. The title of the Op-Ed: Let Detroit go Bankrupt
Romney showed how aloof he was when he said that nothing should be done to stop foreclosures, and here in Nevada, where we have one of the highest foreclosure rates in the nation, that did not sit well with Nevadans. Romney will lose Nevada partly because of that statement.
Romney talks of owning several cars, he even says his wife drives two Cadillac’s, he owns many homes, he even offered a bet to Rick Perry on stage during a debate for $10,000. Mitt Romney hides his money in foreign banks that are in foreign countries, such as the Cayman Islands, Switzerland, Bermuda, Australia, Germany, Ireland, and Luxemburg. He paid 13.9% in taxes, the Everyday Joe, paid twice as much.
This is the world of Mitt Romney, not the Everyday Joe. Americans don’t care that he is rich and successful; they just wish that he could relate to the problems that they face on an everyday basis. And Romney has shown over and over that he is out of touch with ‘Real Americans”.
Mitt Romney during
a debate says "Well, I'm not concerned about the voters"

"If General Motors, Ford and Chrysler get the bailout that their chief executives asked for yesterday, you can kiss the American automotive industry goodbye."Back on February 1, 2012, Mitt Romney said, "I'm in this race because I care about Americans.” And then, in the very next sentence he says, but “I'm not concerned about the very poor, we have a safety net there. If it needs repair, I'll fix it.” The same safety nets that the Republican Party seeks to eliminate; Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid.
Romney showed how aloof he was when he said that nothing should be done to stop foreclosures, and here in Nevada, where we have one of the highest foreclosure rates in the nation, that did not sit well with Nevadans. Romney will lose Nevada partly because of that statement.
''Don't try to stop the foreclosure process. Let it run its course and hit the bottom.''Then there’s NASCAR, the Daytona 500, Romney wanted to be among the working Joe’s. Romney had dressed down, he wore no tie and wanted to enjoy a day at the races among the masses, and then he was asked by an AP reporter if he followed NASCAR. And only an out of touch elitist like Romney could have responded the way he did.
"Not as closely as some of the most ardent fans. But I have some great friends who are NASCAR team owners." Romney replied. But it didn’t stop there; Romney commented on the attire that some fans were wearing. As Romney approached a group of fans wearing plastic ponchos as “fancy raincoats”, something that was certainly alien to him in his world, he just couldn’t help himself with his comment.
“I like those fancy raincoats you bought,” he said. “Really sprung for the big bucks.”When it was announced on the PA system that Romney was in attendance, the crowd booed. They might have booed because of his elitism, and not being able to connect to Everyday Joe’s, or it could have been that the NASCAR cars were made in America. Remember the title of that Op-Ed: Let Detroit go Bankrupt.
Romney talks of owning several cars, he even says his wife drives two Cadillac’s, he owns many homes, he even offered a bet to Rick Perry on stage during a debate for $10,000. Clarence Thomas: Colleagues asked to many questions
Clarence Thomas who has sat on the Supreme Court for many years, often NEVER saying a word during an entire years session, says his colleagues asked to many questions during the Affordable Health Care Act oral arguments that were presented to the Supreme Court last month...
This from a man whose wife was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars indirectly from the Koch brothers who spent millions funding the tea party and the fight against health care reforms...
Sadly, while those that sit on the lower Federal Courts can be held responsible for their lack of ethics and moral misconducts, those same laws do NOT apply to SCOTUS...
Thomas and his right wing colleagues are just one of many reasons why it is imperative that President Obama wins his reelection...

'The Road We've Traveled'
"The Road We've Traveled".
This film gives an inside look at some of the tough calls President Obama made to get our country back on track. Featuring interviews from President Bill Clinton, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Elizabeth Warren, David Axelrod, Austan Goolsbee, and more. It's a film everyone should see.

Obama did the right thing by apologizing to the Afghan people
Last week a NATO General in Afghanistan destroyed several Korans which were said to have been used to pass encrypted messages among the prisoners at the Bagram Air Base prison near Kabul, and the destruction of the books was seen by visiting Muslims.
And now Muslims in Afghanistan have been on a rampage ever since, killing at least 20 people, including two US officers as the Taliban and other extremist groups used the book burnings to incite hate against the United States and its NATO allies.
Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai met with General John R. Allen, the commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan and Ashton B. Carter, the deputy defense secretary. They apologized and offered to cooperate fully with the Afghan government in its investigation into what led to the burning of the Korans.
President Barack Obama had also apologized for the Koran-burning incident in a letter to President Hamid Karzai saying the books had been "unintentionally mishandled".
“I extend to you and the Afghan people my sincere apologies,’’ said President Obama in his letter.
Because President Obama sent an apology to the Afghan people, right wing extremists including Presidential candidates Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich along with their former employer Fox “News”, have come out and damned President Obama for his apology.
Rick Santorum said that President Obama is “showing weakness” by apologizing.
Newt Gingrich said, “you don’t apologize to the enemy”.
But Obama did not apologize to our enemies, he apologized to the people of Afghanistan, it is the Taliban and the extremist elements in Afghanistan that are our enemies, and he did not apologize to them. But right wing extremists do not differentiate between the people of Afghanistan and our enemies, to them, all Muslims are our enemies, and not just in Afghanistan, everywhere, including here in the United States.
Last month a video showed up on Youtube of US forces pissing on dead Muslims. The Department of Defense apologized and said they would investigate the incident.
Now you know where the right wing extremists in the United States draw the line on apologizes, it’s OK to apologize for pissing on dead Muslims, but not for burning their Holy book.
Santorum, Gingrich and Fox “News” incite the fires of the extremist elements here in the United States and in Afghanistan, including the Taliban, further placing US troops and NATO forces in danger. With today’s technology, when right wing extremists spout off against Muslims in the United States, their words are heard around the world.
The reality is President Obama was trying to calm the Afghan citizens down so people would not be killed, but Santorum, Gingrich and Fox “News” don’t live in the world of reality, they live in a world of hate, greed and politics.

"It's showing weakness, and when you show weakness, these things happen," Santorum said after a campaign appearance in Michigan. "So this is the president, showing a side of himself that people in that region of the world perceive -- rightly -- as a person who can be manipulated and moved to make concessions. The president needs to be strong and defend his people, none of whom were doing the wrong thing."
Newt Gingrich said, “you don’t apologize to the enemy”.
"When the men and women who serve under you are killed, you don’t apologize to the enemy," said Gingrich while attending the evening service in Milner, a small town in Lamar County. "This is disgraceful ... this is exactly the wrong thing to do."
But Obama did not apologize to our enemies, he apologized to the people of Afghanistan, it is the Taliban and the extremist elements in Afghanistan that are our enemies, and he did not apologize to them. Andrew Breitbart makes an ass of himself shouting at protesters
Andrew Breitbart a provocateur for right wing extremist ideals, was caught on video outside the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C., during this past weekends CPAC 2012 (Conservative Political Action Conference) meeting.
Breitbart lost it on the crowd, and started screaming, “Behave yourself! Behave yourself! Behave yourself!,” over and over and over, and then, “you filthy freaks!,” and, repeatedly, “Stop raping people! Stop raping people!”
Breitbart is famous for misinforming his audience by use of editing and truncating truths and facts, then turning those facts and truths into slime and smear for his extremist audience. His targets are the President of the United States, Democrats and EVERYONE who is not a right wing fundamentalist.
This is not the first time Breitbart has been seen acting like an insane person and it surely won’t be the last. Watch the video.
